Everyone Loves A Bad Boy!

Before the dawn of social media, being labeled a stalker or generally being “followed” was considered deviant behavior. However, in the digital world, social media sites like Twitter encourage internet users to follow others. The general trend of users is to post their every move throughout the day so that others know constantly what they are doing. The constant act of posting a new status or creating a new tweet leads to reading others, too.

Celebrities are one segment of people that Twitter fanatics from all over follow daily. It is insane by the amount of tweets regular people are posting throughout the day to celebrities. These people have made following celebrities a main part of  daily operations. I believe this act really is a never ending cycle that is changing peoples’ lives. The obsession some fans have for the celebrities is startling.

One celebrity, Charlie Sheen, is a prime example of the power of social networking. When he created a Twitter account he had a million followers only 25 hours later. It just goes to show that you do not have to be liked to be popular.
